No Hands / Explosions (7/1/2019)
Dear friends and family,
Let's go through this past week.
Tuesday:
Did a lot of biking. And it took me my whole mission, but I have
finally gotten good enough at biking to bike with no hands. I practiced a
lot and felt like a boss. And then the bike exploded. We had a
mini-exchange with some elders who were doing a presentation for Zone
Conference and one of them was using my bike with Elder Davis on his
bike while the other elder and I went to use to car. We hadn't pulled
out of the apartment driveway when they returned with my bike in a
couple of pieces. He said that he shifted and something broke. Luckily
it happened right as they went to leave and not later on when biking at
full speed on a busy street. So that's a problem.
Wednesday:
Zone Conference! After not taking zone pics for like 6 months for
unexplained reasons, we actually took a zone pic this conference,
attached below. It was a pretty good one. We talked about being BOLD and how we can do that. It's crazy how many Zone Conferences I've been to and how few I have remaining.
Friday:
Had lunch with a non-member (the same one whose wife is a member who
brought us to the concert last week) at a pretty great local BBQ
restaurant called Cockeye. It was hot. But very tasty.
Sunday:
We had three people at church, one is a self-referral who just recently
got out of prison and wants to turn his life around. He's a really cool
guy and really enjoyed church. he said that he felt everybody was
really welcoming which is basically the best thing we can hear.
Life
can get hard and I can get really impatient. But I continue to learn
new things and meet cool new people every week. I know I'm being
supported and I appreciate it.
Love,
Elder Gallagher
PIC: Zone Conference. Technically our tiny Youngstown Zone is combined here with the Kirtland Zone.
My
current companion, Elder Davis, is fifth from the right on the back
row. I am on the left with my old companion Elder Lewis (who is in my
district!).
I am not allowed to comment on the
attractiveness of certain sister missionaries who look like Disney
Princesses. (Those jokes aren't getting old, right? They probably are.
But it helps my sanity, okay?)
