[Big Announcement] (4/8/2019)

Dear friends and family,

Despite having no big announcement whatsoever, Conference was really good. What I saw of it at least. Let me run you through this past weekend's antics.

So since our church building is a stake center, we naturally assumed that somebody from the 3 or 4 wards that meet here would come to set up the building for viewing General Conference on Saturday morning. So we show up just in time to view it!...only to find that nobody else is here. Well that's surprising. No worries, we'll just watch it on our devices with Church Wi-Fi. Well, that doesn't work either. First it's showing a 15-minute countdown even though the session is supposed to have already began. I'm wondering if there has somehow been some crazy delay. Turns out it was just our missionary devices being weird. We called some members and they said we could come over and watch the last half of the first session of conference with them, which we did. Then we had to come back to the church between sessions and thought we could maybe get it working, but we couldn't, and no members were available to help us out this time.

Thankfully we had already lined up watching conference with members for Priesthood session but we were watching it with Jason and he had to leave early so we had to leave early too. The next day we were able to watch both sessions in their entirety, however.

What caught me off guard was the beginning of the Sunday Morning session with Dale G. Renlund's talk. I love Elder Renlund. But in case you're wondering why he said (something like) "You don't need to go crazy wondering what more you need to do if answers or blessings aren't coming", that was for me. I was the one going crazy wondering what more I needed to be doing to start actually improving. Very cool how God speaks directly to us sometimes.

We had an amazing first lesson with a lady named Jane yesterday. Most lessons we teach are with people who aren't quite at the level of willingness and spiritual receptivity that they need to be, but Jane was completely willing and very cognizant of the Spirit. When we explained that we aren't called Mormons, we're members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she even actually understood and applied it!! So amazing. She also accepted our offer to come help her move this coming Saturday. Please pray for Jane as she reads the Book of Mormon and continues meeting with us.

Love,
Elder Gallagher

PICS: I don't remember anymore which throwback pics I've sent and which I haven't. It's all jumbled up in my head. So...here's a picture of a field.
