End of the Gestational Period (10/3/2018)

Title Joke Explanation: I hit my 9 month mark today.

Hey everybody,

We got transfer news yesterday. I'm staying in the wide, rural Ashland, Ohio, and Elder Miller is gone because he done finished his mission. Said goodbye to him yesterday. Because of the weird way transfers are working this transfer, I have not yet met Elder Lewis, my new companion. Right now I'm in Tallmadge in a trio with two other elders whose companions went home. Having fun though--trios are interesting. I'll be back in Ashland and with my new companion until tomorrow.

Yesterday we went for a lesson that the elder who is normally in Tallmadge had met last Sunday. We were waiting for a text confirmation of where to meet but she wasn't responding. We sat there for a while, keeping ourselves busy evaluating a lesson we had just got out of, but we were getting close to leaving when we decided to go check it out. To our surprise, we found the person we were trying to teach as well as the woman she lived next to, and now, after a great lesson with them, we have a return appointment that I sadly won't be able to go to but it was cool nonetheless.

This week I want to tell you all about The Belief Window. It's an old and very long talk that for me has pretty much unlocked the secret to life. I am so glad that my mission president made it a task for everyone in the mission to listen to this talk. I plan to apply it to my life, my writing, and my missionary work. Everybody listen to it! I would attach the file but it's way too big. Just search "The Belief Window" by Hyrum Smith. Seriously, it's amazing. The talk is about self-worth and how what we do and the consequences of our actions are influenced by what we choose to believe. I'll just let Hyrum Smith speak for himself in his very-amusing 1960s-style voice.

"Repentance is the process of changing what's on our Belief Window."

There's another piece of revelation I got recently that I thought was super cool. Eventually I will write a Facebook post about it, so be on the lookout for that in the next weeks. It will be called: Make Eternal Decisions.

Well, that's all for this week. I hope to return to Ashland soon and see if we can't get the work moving again. Keep it real everybody.

Love,
Elder Gallagher
