Hey guys,

Cheryl was baptized this past Saturday! Wish I could have been there. I'm happy for her though. Just imagine me in the attached picture...

S. Gifford Nielsen of the Seventy came to visit us this past week for our Zone Conference, which was pretty great. He and his wife had a lot to share with us, which I would essentially boil down to "be a good missionary". It was a great opportunity.

We have an investigator named Godwin we are working with who is at present our closest investigator to baptism. He took notes while we taught him the Plan of Salvation! I love him. It's pretty exciting. I will let you know how it goes.

This week I want to share two talks from President Nelson. I was asked to start preparing a talk for a sacrament meeting next month and for it I've been researching "the gathering of Israel", which I really knew almost nothing about before. The way I learned about it was through these two amazing talks:

"Covenants" by Elder Russell M. Nelson, Sunday Afternoon October 2011 General Conference, and "The Book of Mormon, the Gathering of Israel, and the Second Coming" by Elder Russell M. Nelson, July 2014 Ensign.

For me, coming to learn more about the gathering of Israel has helped me appreciate the church so much more. "Israel" in this context is essentially every one of God's children who has yet to accept the gospel. This work we are all engaged in is the gathering of Israel! It is an essential, monumental work that must be performed before Christ comes again. The Restoration of the church is such a blessing. As President Nelson said, without the Book of Mormon there would be no gathering! Without the Restoration, the Abrahamic Covenant could not be kept and the lost tribes would remain lost. But we are so blessed to have Christ's church upon the earth with temples and revelation and the priesthood. It is the fulfilling of ancient prophesies--all of time has led up to this era. We must recognize that and GATHER ISRAEL!

I urge you all to recognize the reality of this work. I urge you to "Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend" (Mosiah 4:9).

Love,
Elder Gallagher
